Angkor Restaurant 唔哥金邊粿條家

With limited parking, this restaurant has been on the corner of Victoria Drive and 33rd Avenue for a good number of years.  We tried it way back when it first opened and recall that we didn't quite enjoy it.  Why?  Neither of us really remembered why.

Top Cantonese Cuisine Restaurant 食為先酒家

After approximately eight long years, we finally decided to give our neighborhood joint another try.  Funny how we often visit this plaza for either the corner supermarket or for the hair salon, but never really opted to have dim sum at Top Cantonese Cuisine Restaurant 食為先酒家.  If it wasn't because we were tight on time, we would probably be elsewhere for lunch.

South Ocean Seafood Restaurant 南海漁村海鮮酒家

After dropping off Buddha Dog at his day spa, Buddha Boy and I had 1.5hr to kill before our appointment with my TCM.  We were hungry and needed breakfast...yes, dim sum for breakfast.  We decided to make a stop at the next dim sum restaurant in sight...okay, South Ocean Seafood Restaurant 南海漁村海鮮酒家 it is.

Tung Hing Bakery 同慶餅家

After a disappointing sandwich from Banh Mi Saigon 西貢麵包, I had to satisfy my craving for a good banh-mi.  My choice was Tung Hing Bakery 同慶餅家.

Buddha Girl and I have a favorite banh-mi shop, unfortunately, it's in Portland.  Nothing else in Vancouver really compares to Best Baguette in terms of the bun and filling (quality and quantity, ratio and taste).  When Buddha Girl's colleague raved about a banh-mi joint in our neighborhood, we knew we had to give it a try.

We don't know much about Filipino cuisine but we do enjoy what we've tried from local restaurants and from our Filipino friends/colleagues.  After reading about this place through a popular local Chinese food blog (Sunny 飲飲食食), we knew we must pay it a visit.
